The more Trump tries to make himself relevant again — by calling-in to Business News shows — the more he shows how much he is NOT really up to the job.
Trump floats 'cutting' retirement spending, drawing quick pushback from Biden

Phoning into CNBC's "Squawk Box," [today Donald Trump said : ]
“So first of all, there is a lot you can do in terms of entitlements, in terms of cutting,” Trump responded. “And in terms of, also, the theft and the bad management of entitlements — tremendous bad management of entitlements — there’s tremendous amounts of things and numbers of things you can do.”
And the response from the Biden Campaign was swift: “Not on my watch.”
Furthermore, unlike the MAGA cabal, Democrats under the Biden-Harris Administration actually have a Policy Plan for strengthening Social Security and Medicare:
[...]
Biden’s annual budget proposal, released Monday, calls for shoring up Medicare by raising taxes on incomes above $400,000, raising a 3.8% surtax on net investment income to 5% above that income threshold and directing the revenues into the hospital insurance trust fund. It also calls for putting Medicare drug savings into the trust fund to extend its duration.
The budget further calls for “protecting and strengthening” Social Security by “asking the highest-income Americans to pay their fair share,” a White House fact sheet said.
Trump has not offered a policy plan for Social Security or Medicare.
The GOP corporate tools, controlled by Trump, repeatedly talk about cutting those safety net benefits. Benefits that retirees have earned by paying into, their entire working lives; benefits that ensures we all can retire with dignity.
Sensing that Dump stepped in it again — on that 3rd rail of politics — the Trump gadflys went into urgent damage control, once again trying to mop-up the Trump mess in Aisle 45:
Asked to clarify Trump’s statements and whether they meant he is open to cutting Social Security, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung pointed to a Trump War Room post on X. “If you losers didn’t cut his answer short, you would know President Trump was talking about cutting waste,” the post said.
The Trump campaign underscored that position Monday afternoon as the comments gained more attention, sending out an email blast headlined “President Trump Reiterates Protecting Entitlements Like Social Security and Medicare; Would Get Rid of Waste and Fraud.”

A few counter-points to their rewrite of demento-Don’s foot-in-mouth AM ranting:
1) In his original statement on the CNBC "Squawk Box," Trump clearly separated the “waste management” part of his answer, from the “entitlements cutting” part, by the use of the word: also.
2) Concerning that first part “entitlements cutting,” Trump gleefully claimed: “there is a lot you can do”.
3) And if Republicans really wanted to “Get Rid of Waste and Fraud” in government, they wouldn’t be backing the biggest “fraudster” to run for the Office in the history of the country — now would they?
Fraud to the tune of a half Billion dollars in fines, for systematic and repeated breaking of New York business laws. And what Trump did to the citizens of New York, he now wants to do to retirees — defraud them of their security, dignity, and livelihood.

No wonder Historians and presidential experts have voted Donald J. Trump as
Worst.President.Ever!
You’d think being stuck in aisle 45 out of 45 would be something worth reporting on — assuming that the “both sides do it” principle, really is point of the quadrennial horse-race that Corporate News agencies like to run — now wouldn’t you?
Of course you’d also think the Trump would be facing Justice for his recording-breaking 91 felony charges by now too — assuming the Supreme Court had not decided to further slow-walk, Trump’s perpetual flight from Justice — otherwise known as his nonstop frivolous motions and delays.
Talk about “Getting Rid of Waste and Fraud” in government, eh?
Put Joe Biden and Kamala Harris back in Office, and give him a Democratic House and Senate this fall, and we can have that America clean-up project, that weary citizens have been waiting for … since January 6th, 2021.
