In the eyes of many, Rush Limbaugh is regarded as a college dropout and a media bully. And Sarah Palin, for profit these days, appears a disciple who capitalized on the Limbaugh playbook. Bill O'Reilly of Fox News paddles in the same slush pit.
All qualify as members of the not so bright, dollar driven, make it up for money, media club. Mr Limbaugh's attack on the reputation of Ms Sandra Fluke was no fluke. It was intentional and likely defamatory. This must end! Women have rights!
However there is good news here and possibly light at the end of the tunnel.
Most sensible people realize that Rush uses his bully pulpit platform not to inform, but primarily to make extreme statements and often outrageous, factually imperfect claims. The more extreme the remarks, the better it suits his real purpose; i.e. to have other media outlets rebroadcast his diatribe to increase the audience reach, ratings and financial return.
His cruel, erroneous, and shocking public attack on Sandra Fluke, a young American law student, yesterday, was absolutely reprehensible and despicable. By his actions and attitude Limbaugh appears a misogynist. Once again he has proven that he has little to no regard for the health, welfare or basic rights of women in America.
Mr Limbaugh is clearly an unsuitable type of person to present a public media program. Apart from being issue ignorant, he is an irresponsible and inflammatory individual, who dangerously caters and panders to the worst instincts in individuals. No self respecting advertiser should want to be associated with his program.
However there is good news! Currently a petition is underway seeking to have the brilliant US Senate candidate for MA, Elizabeth Warren, a Harvard Law Professor and long time advocate for women, deliver the Keynote Speech at the DNC Convention in September.
These are typical responses in the petition comments:
Sue Peeler (Pollock MO)
"Elizabeth Warren is the best we have for President in 2016 - just as President Obama's keynote speech in 2004 launched his future Presidency, so this could give Elizabeth Warren a national spotlight - & inspire us to work together for progress".
Francine Beck (Vida, Oregon)
"A Woman that can represent everyone. Someone everyone can understand. Doesn't play the game. Is straight up brilliant".
Mary Clark (Charlotte,NC)
"Elizabeth Warren is smart, articulate, passionate about her beliefs, and really cares about the 99%. She would make a great president or vice president, or senator!"
May I invite all who support the President's view regarding the rights of women, to sign the petition to give him the perfect podium partner in Charlotte and a powerful advocate for the rights of women in America, Elizabeth Warren.
Thank you America,
Let's hear it for American Women's Rights!
